Ravanan Releasing Today
Highly anticipated movie of the year, Raavan is all set to release on June 18th 2010. The movie releases as Raavan in Hindi, Raavanan in Tamil and Villain in Telugu. Raavan Movie is directed by Mani Ratnam and acted by Abhishek Bachchan , Vikram and Aishwarya Rai.

Making ‘Raavan’ was a real challenge: Mani Ratnam
Ace director Maniratnam has said that the simultaneous shooting of both the Tamil and Hindi versions of ‘Raavan’ was the biggest challenge yet in his career spread over two decades. Mani is presently in Cannes, France along with Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, the lead cast of the film, to screen the trailer of the bilingual film at the international film festival.
“Making the film in two different languages side-by-side was the most challenging and difficult task in my filmy career. The effort was very taxing physically,” said Ratnam. It was quite a taxing schedule for Aishwarya as well, who plays modern day Sita in both the versions. “Apart from the intricacies of essaying the Hindi and Tamil heroine all at the same time, the inhospitable jungle terrain where the shooting was held was in itself a challenging one,” said Ash.
Tamil superstar Vikram, who acted alongside Aishwarya in both versions, has dubbed in his own voice in Hindi (as villain) as well as in Tamil (as hero). “If Ash could dub for the Tamil edition, why can’t I do the same for the Hindi version?” he quipped.

Maniratnam’s actress-wife Suhasini, who doubles up as the film’s co-producer and dialogue writer (only for the Tamil edition), feels that the film would help the audience understand the grey parts each of us have deep down our mind. On Rahman’s music in the film, she said that the background score ‘had merged’ aptly with the story. Songs have come out really well and would prop up the movie at the box office, she added.
